To Right Honourable Sir Robert Menzies, Prime Minister of Australia
From Moira Dynon, Chairman, Aid for India Campaign:
As our democratic leader I implore you to give a lead to the world—particularly to the food producing nations—to grant immediate food aid to the people of India now suffering from the great scourge of famine because of drought and failure of crops STOP Even if such aid calls for denial of food to our usual market purchasers the present crisis on humanitarian grounds alone—apart from friendship and ties of Commonwealth—demands bold and imaginative measures STOP India must not be allowed to starve STOP Our national conscience demands immediate and substantial assistance STOP
Respectfully and sincerely Moira Dynon
